In 2023, Roen Salvage performed improvements at the Holcim Green Bay terminal without interrupting their cement shipment operations. This included removal of old timber pile clusters, installing two dolphin structures, two offshore platforms, sheet pile seawall repairs, a new fendering system, a new rub rail, concrete flatwork, and 5,600 cubic yards of dredging.
Each dolphin structure consisted of five 24-inch battered piles, 115 ft in length, driven to bedrock, with two rock anchors drilled into the piles. Temporary formwork was then installed to support a cast-in-place reinforced concrete cap weighing 120,000 lbs. The offshore platforms each consisted of four 24-inch piles, 110 ft in length, driven to bedrock, supporting a structural steel platform. |
